Hi Roger,
Thank you for all your messages. I am sorry you think I singled you out
for criticism. I did not mean to hurt your feelings. On that subject, it is
really all right to patronise only those people for whom you actually are a
patron. Even then it is counterproductive because it leads to a high staff
turnover and consequently, unnecessarily high traing costs. :-) However
your point ... that some individuals seem to invite it ... is well taken.
To accept the invitation however is sheer self-indulgence, like eating
Lindt Excellence Chocolate with Macadamia nuts ... delicious but fattening!
Now that the fight/fued is over all around it would be nice to
get back to being civilised again, and talking about C and programming in it.
To get back on topic is there an ANSI C compiler that doesn't need
umpteen gigabytes of disk space? GNU is fine when you have a 40 GB hard
disk, but this PC has only 3, and the OS and its bits and pieces take up
much of that. At present I have to compile on the laptop!!!!
Best Wishes,
Bill.
