Their E-Mail support has always been free.  I'm referring to calling 
them on the phone - that's where they charge for the call after your

There are usually 4 or 5 MS full time support technicians that monitor 
their newsgroups.  But the best support is given by the volunteers that 
post to the group.  Since their groups are read around the world, there 
is an amazing amount of knowledge and help available.
