Hi Bonnie!
I can't believe you're still here. It has been years since I last visited
the Audio echo. Traffic is much lower than it was five or six years ago.
But, it seems that all of Fidonet is that way these days. How long have you
been getting on this echo? It has been more than ten years since I first got
on and I seem to recall that you were actively involved at that time.
Anyway, down to business:
Do you have any suggestions for a source for turntables? Maybe a good used
table? Some of us still have many hundreds of LPs. My Thorens table has a
built in tonearm and it has a broken wire in the arm. There doesn't seem to
be any way to gain access to the wiring in the arm so I'm not able to fix it.
It is otherwise a decent belt drive turntable. Everything available new
seems to either be elcheapo $99 tables with arms that only accept p-mount
cartridges or megabuck tables that cost more than my house. I have two Sure
V15 type 5 standard mount cartridges that I want to continue to use. Any
ideas will be greatly appreciated! See ya! george.wells@toltbbs.com
