At the club where I fly, We Run an unlimited Pylon race "Run what ya Brung"
trainers, sticks, flying wings etc.. anything. we get alot of new pilots in
there and they really have a ball.. what we do is have them run a practice
ap
or two and have them run the pylons however they feel comfortable. then we
average the times and give them a handicap. we have had a great responce from
our new pilots and we plan to have many more in the future.
as for the handicap the new pilots with the slow trainers have the same
hance
of winning as someone with a really fast pylon plane.. it's all a matter of
how
they fly there course.. and everyone is trying to beat there own time instead
of the next guys. of course we still have the Q500 Class only. but we always
ha
ve the Fun Pylon for everyone.
hope this adds some insight.
