Strange! I had none of that, and I don't remember it ever happening with a
Netscape upgrade. AFAIR, all I do is click on 'just do it' and it just does.
I do remember, at least for the newset update, that I wasn't asked for
confirmation on anything, and many of the filenames whiz by so fast that it's
impossible to read them quickly enough.

Seems to me it would be a simple matter for them to include a README that
listed changed files so one could reclaim them from a tape/floppy backup,
altho I like your idea MUCH better, particularly for system files.
Perhaps I'm the only one who has asked them about it. Perhaps I should *not*
be the only one! :^)
