| subject: | ATM Why am I so edgy? |

Hello, again
While I have brought my surfaces (those referred to in recent
postings) to spherical figures, I still am attempting to
correct the mirrors' edges. Since I'm not certain what it is I'm
dealing with, "trail-and-error" probably best defines my efforts.
Superficially, I seem to have cases of TDE: outside ROC the Ronchi
shadows hook very sharply to the outside, replete with
a thin, tapering "tail" that runs parrell with the optical edge;
inside ROC however, things are a little bit stranger-the shadows are
capped, so to speak, such that they (the shadows) break in
both directions near the edge, something like a
"T" with a slanted top, if you catch my meaning. Obviously I have
created some sort of undesireable zone. What am I describing, and how do I
prevent/remove it in the future?
Mark Clement
P.S. Throwing the mirrors against my basement wall is not
an option,
although it would effectively remove the zones. . .
