Too many of these people who were weaned only on the Web would have a lot of problems understanding a text-based environment (really, I've had a couple of users not understand how to use the BBS's menuing system). I see that "feature" as a filter to keep out a lot of the jetsam and floatsam that's all over the Web. But that's just me and I'm well-known for my stick-in-the-mud views on BBSing.
