It's extremely understandable for us to observe life and conclude that something like humans is a goal or whatever. And humans ARE much more clever and desirable (to us) than mosquitoes etc. However, the vast majority of evolution has worked with bacteria and the like. If being a good musician or a good typist is an indication of a winner, then WE WIN. However, humans have evolved only as the extreme outer edge of what is possible, given the circumstances. If events had not removed the dinosaurs, humans would not exist.
