Yes a I know and special for Gentoo users is there a little correction in a
scripts file in mbsebbs-1.0.01/script/init.gentoo
the line for PATH can be made to have:
PATH=${PATH}:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:${MBSE_ROOT}/bin

What there stand now in the line is:
PATH=/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:${MBSE_ROOT}/bin
by adding a ${PATH} right after the = sign will work for Gentoo users.
I have tried out on a installation of mbsebbs-1.0.01.
