Having not had any experience with other recievers in that range, I'm
probably not the best one to ask. However, I've found it adequate to follow
the exploits of the local CB population with the included telescoping whip.
Hooking up a real CB antenna gives me enough reach to hear both sides of
conversations while on the highway. Of course, these are probably the
stereotypical "strong, local signals" you read about in the manuals from time
to time.
Some nights I'm finding *something* down around 25.5 MHz, but it never lasts
long and never seems to show up on the same frequency twice. I haven't
really looked for it. (Just because I buy something for a particular feature
doesn't mean I'll necessarily use that feature.)
