RS>KP> Frankly, I think what YOU describe as "serious cyclists" are children
RS>KP> who like to play with their toys.
RS>Roger on that. Some of these guys who call themselves serious cyclists
RS>sound like overgrown children with too much money to spend. Then there
RS>are those of us who are serious enough in our intent, but low on Finances,
RS>abilities, or know how. My old Trek 850 is getting a little old and
RS>needs to be taken in to the shop for rejuvenation. Just can't seem to
RS>scrape together the amount of money needed. Being a retiree on a fixed
RS>income and below the poverty level doesn't help. Then too, I've been
RS>burned by a Bike Shop that was manned by unscrupulous personnel and
RS>got taken to the cleaners and still didn't get the work done right.
RS>What are your thoughts on this sort of thing?
Likewise. I just got a Fuji Crosstown, and a couple of the Trek riders
and a few others look at me like I'm driving a Yugo.
I mean, sure, it was only $250 used, but it has 15 speeds, and it gets
me from point A to point B no problem. For once, I even have a bike with
brakes that work when it's raining!
No the "serious cyclers" are just snobs. And one-upmanship'ers. "My bike
is better than yours, nyahh nyahh!"
