Ed,

I quit using XP when I upgraded to Windows 7. The same will apply when
I start using Windows 10, and quit using Windows 7. Again, the ONLY
reason I'm upgrading is because of the security issues. That will take a
LONG TIME TO FINISH, once the main software is installed.

I have the IObit Product Suite, which includes:

1) IObit Malware Fighter -- it has an anti-malware and anti-spyware
engine, an anti-ransomware engine, and the "bit defender" engine. It is
automatically updated daily. I scan any new downloads with it.

2) Driver Booster -- it checks and updates all the drivers on the
system, to make them up to date.

3) Smart Defrag -- it defragments and optimizes the hard drive.

4) Uninstaller -- it removes unwanted programs.

5) Software Updater -- checks for new versions of installed programs.

6) Advanced System Care -- several options including:

A. Startup Optimization -- speeds up boot-up.
B. Privacy Sweep -- deletes cookies from the browser.
C. Junk File Clean -- deletes junk and temporary files
D. Shortcut Fix -- fixes invalid shortcuts.
E. Registry Clean -- removes invalid registry entries.
F. Spyware Removal -- similar to IObit Malware Fighter.
G. Internet Boost -- Speeds up ones internet connection.
H. System Optimization -- Speeds up system performance by closing down
unneeded applications (user configurable).
I. Registry Defrag -- Defragments items in the registry.
J. Security Reinforce -- Reduces System weaknesses to prevent hacking.
K. Vulnerability Fix -- Security Updates from Microsoft are installed.
L. Disk Optimization -- Similar to SmartDefrag.

With most all of these, you can get a good price to cover 3 computers
for one year. Full details are at www.iobit.com

In the past, for virus scanners, I've used McAfee, F-Prot, CA Internet
Security, and Sophos...but I like the IOBit Product suite the best.

Daryl
