After you asked:
GD>GD>HEY! I got the program Telix for Dos. I can't seem to
GD>GD>figure out how to install it. Any one wanna tell me what to
GD>GD>type at the C:\> Prompt???
Jeff Brielmaier was nice enough to say:
GD> JB> If you have v3.22, you should have the (4) ZIP files shown below:
[installing instructions]
GD> JB> If you have v3.51, you should have the (1) ZIP file shown below:
[more instructions]
After which you yelled:
GD>HUNH??? WHAT THE HELL does all that mean???
Perhaps we should explain it more simply.
If you downloaded the program from a BBS, there will be files waiting
for you on your hard drive, in your "download" directory.
If you got version 3.22, there should be 4 files.
If you got version 3.51, there should be only 1 file.
To install, you will need the program PKUNZIP in your "path".
To check this, at the C:\> prompt type PKUNZIP.
If you get a screen of instructions, good.
If not, you need to get PKUNZIP so you can "unzip" the compressed files.
Assuming you have PKUNZIP available, and assuming the filenames are
the same as in Jeff's message...

If you have Telix 3.22, go into the directory where the compressed
files are located, then type the following -4- lines exactly:
MD \TELIX
PKUNZIP TLX322*.ZIP \TELIX
CD \TELIX
TELIX
This will install Telix 3.22 and start it up, so you can configure it.

If you have Telix 3.51, go into the directory where the compressed
file is located, then type the following -7- lines exactly:
MD \TELTEMP
PKUNZIP TELIX351.ZIP \TELTEMP
CD \TELTEMP
INSTALL
DEL \TELTEMP\*.* (answer yes) <-don't type this part
RD \TELTEMP
This will install Telix 3.51, and remove the temporary files.
To start it up, go to the directory you specified during "setup",
and type TELIX, so you can configure it.

If you still have trouble, get a friend who has more experience with
installing programs, and ask him to to hit you over the head with a
large fish, and then to install Telix while you're unconscious.
... A child of 5 could understand this! Bring me a child of 5!
