When we were buying Christmas lights I asked about the price differences.
It turns out that different chemicals are used for different colours
(hardly surprising) and that the chemicals for blue and white lights are
more expensive than the chemicals for other colours. I give it a year for
the price differential to reduce to a trivial or, even, a "no
difference" amount.
