GG>have to look at the schedule. (We -just- finished loading out Peter
GG>Pan... man, am I tired!)
Loading out Peter Pan?
Is that what the kids are calling it these days?
Man, get married, and lose out on all the new stuff.
pooh.
GG> GM> The only drawback that I foresee is either your schedule
GG> GM> conflicts or my P2 doesn't go through....arg.
GG>Keep me posted, ok?
Hard Nipples, mate, the P2 went through on Monday,
So I'll be there.
Been busy though...and that's why you haven't heard from me sooner...
Incidentally, and I can't remember whether I mentioned this in the group
before now, but I caught the thieves that hit my garage Dec. 27th, been
busy working on a presentation for a proposal on a liason committee
between our local and the London City Police.
Seems our gov't pays for nothing anymore, and this slack of law
enforcement from a lack of cash has to be made up by us tax-payin
clowns.
Anyway, I've got some really nifty ideas about a modus operandi for
tracking stolen gear down, and how to react quickly and properly about
it, and I'll present it to you in Email when I get in done, as I don't
think I can do a text insert using cmpqwk...
GG> GM> The other teensy weensy thing is....it's a non-smoking
GG>establishment so
GG>Damned bleeding heart liberal dipstick town.. I hate B'ham. Bunch
GG>of "look at my Beemer" type rich snob-dweebs.
I'll go where the money is if I can...them dollars is all the same size.
Well, the Canadian ones are smaller, figuratively...
> I'd just as soon
GG>throat-punch 'em as look at em. (But I'll come to see your show if I
GG>can... we can throat-punch them together.)
I'll take the beemer, sell it for a new truck-
actually, everyone in Ont. has caught on to how much they cost to repair-
Only a knob would by one.
You can get a used one under 10 years old for about 6 grand Can.
It's a false "hey lookit me!" thing...
-then they get the repair bill.
GG> GM> I'm buying the first beer as to our agreement of 1 year ago...
GG>You betcha. My "first beer" will be a 5 gallon drum of Labatt Blue,
GG>if you don't mind. ;-)
That's a find brand of enema you take, Gar...
> Bring me some Cubans too (cigars).. we can't
GG>get 'em here, but I can get 'em in Windsor. (You commie lovers!)
Yeah, and then you woke up.
You smoke that crap?
Glad it's a non-smoking bar.
Bud light for you too, pal.
: )
Now I've gone and done it, Vineburg will be there...: )
Philly is a long way to drive for a round of your favourite brew...

GG>Do let me know though. Love to see the show, and erase "Chicken
GG>Dance" from your hard drive. ;-)
I'm saving it in case you get out of line.
Actually I'd like to see the entire Nugent road crew out to the gig doin
the Macarena, the hokey-pokey, and of course the chicken thing.
We'll finish off with Daydream believer by the monkees.
Actually, I'm in a quandary because I do a lot of stuff for sure that
you Markins never heard of...David Wilcox (Canadian one)
Stompin Tom Connors...
It's great bar foot stompin musak!
Warning:
When you see what I do, don't be makin fun of me cuz my band's in a
box....: )
I'm a purist too, but I see a comprimise in doin a day job, and this
takes the place of that.
ha.
BTW the second date is Mar. 27,28- two nights.
In case yer busy belly dancin, or whatever-Swan Lake with grapes in yer
drawers and what not...
GG>... If thine enemy offend thee, giveth his kid a drum.
Yeah, make sure it's a 700 dollar Noble and Cooley snare, too.
McGill hisseff.

     Hey, Brother!

I really enjoy your gig updates. Do you have any latest to post?

In the spirit of sharing, here's the latest on Otis:

Rob the bassist and I are gonna do it as a duo. He's in favor of
changing the name, since our music will be more of a contempo jazz style than
Otis' beatnik-folk-bebop. He's playing a fretless Precision and a fretful
Precision and an old (OLD!) Kay archtop acoustic. I'm gonna play the 6- and
12-string acoustics. I now have a BBE 383 preamp. The guitar will go into
it; I'll come off the back of it like a direct box. For the 6-string, I'll
use the 383's EQ, its aural exciter, and in the effects loop an Ibanez delay
and a chorus. For the 12, I'll use a DOD EQ pedal in the effects loop, along
with the chorus, and the 383's aural exciter.

All other instruments will be pre-recorded. Last week we finished the
bossa nova background of "Silly Love Songs." My, oh my!!! Even Atomic Butt
Riley would be impressed. Honest!!

Rob's working on the midi files of his originals, taking out the melody
instruments from the existing recorded versions.

The next one we'll prepare is the Gary-ized version of "Girl from
Ipanema," but it'll become "Gorilla from Ipanema." heh heh

Nothing in the background will be overpowering. We are remembering that
we'll be playing mostly in coffeehouses, so the tracks will be full but
somewhat simple. "Silly," for example, has only a background bass, light
drums, 2 keyboards, and one extra acoustic part. sounds like Todd Rundgren
playing with Pink Floyd.

Now, once the gigs start rolling in, then I'll REALLY have some exciting
posts...along with mucho bootlegs to sell here. heh heh

     Gary
