RP>    the moment, my garden is under about a four foot drift.  OTOH my
 RP>    african violets are growing like crazy.
 
     My garden is buried as well, on all sides of the house. Since we live on 
top of a hill that has a river and flood plains at the bottom, I'm kind of 
glad the ground is protected from the wind at least!
     And I can't grow African violets! I love them, but they don't like me! 
Oh well, I'll always have something to strive for!  :)
