No society is. We are however significantly less armed (inc the police)
& thus armed events cause a huge outcry here.
But wrt crimes of property.....that'll be just about the same anywhere
given you have poor & less poor & wrt sex crimes....if you have
humans then....etc.

Hum. I have a great deal of time for civitas but in common with many
"think tanks" looking to pay their bills they need to be a bit
sensationalist in order to pay the bills.
As an example from the quote below:
"the Government has every intention of pretending that the crime
problem is under control."
How Long have humans been around? & How long has crime been around?
Almost by definition.....the "crime problem" is not under any
gov's control.
But the piece gives one the impression that it could be.
