yeah... and?? do you have any idea of the amount of fidonet business that's handled via email these days? i can tell you there is quite a bit... i get applications sent to me as well as helping other operators with their configs... all via email... when i see my system having problems connecting with a system linked here, they get an email letting them know about the problem... ya can't send netmail when a remote system is not answering or is refusing your connections for some reason... not to mention that people can easily check their email on their phones but not their netmail for numerous reasons...
