The only thing that kept Bill Clinton in office was the fact that Democrats
united behind him in spite of the evidence of perjury and obstruction of
justice. The only thing that got Richard Nixon out of office was the fact
that Republicans refused to unite behind him in the face of evidence of
obstruction of justice. The deciding factor is not the severity or
extremeness of the charge, but the loyalty of party members.
Invading Canada, though? Who would be against that? A short, easily
winnable
war.
