If push comes to shove, the US will *not* defend Taiwan; as we're
unreliable, thanks to the nonsensical political divide within that ignores
the reality of the external threat.

Rather, the Taiwanese will submit or die, and we'll cancel all that PRC
debt you're so fond of extolling as our ultimate demise. Then things blow
up everywhere, economically at first, then physically and then it's all
over -- for everyone. Permanently. 

Ah, for the quaint old days of UK rule with wooden boats and cannonballs,
at least all of us didn't have to die for your designs back then; those
ill-advised imperialist designs that shaped, formed, and delivered us to
the precipice that we stand upon now...
