Hello, Mark...
MC> ALL my planes except three have been tail draggers. The F4, F18,
MC> and Mystere 3000 are tricycle.
I only have one trike now, a Pica T-28B, although the tri-cycle geared
once was all I used - I still turn one over on its nose occasionally due
to the bumpy hay field we use - we've just built a new flying site but
haven't been able to use it until the entrance road becomes more solid -
which could be some time unless the rain lets up - we have had more than
usual this Winter - and now, today, we have snow on the ground and only
28 deg - guess this is another "shop day".
RM> some time - right ??? What is your favorite bird ??? TTYL - Roger
MC> The Ultra Sport 60 with an OS .61 ABC/pump with a MACs quiet pipe
MC> and an APC 11x8 is my all time favorite. Unlimited vertical and it
The US 60 is definitely a good model - I have built two (for other pilots)
and one of them is still flying after 4 years - I did repair, strip,
and re-cover it last year for the owner after a foolish mistake on his
part (a Del-type maneuver, but no points).
MC> I also have a US1000, but since I have $250 in the paint job I
MC> don't fly it nearly as much.
Must be a nice paint job - what's it look like ?? I use Super Coverite
and polyurethane enamel on all the birds I build, but I've never charged
that much - even for building, covering, and all the rest. I have a
US1000 NIB that I bought last year from someone exiting the hobby. I did
build one for another customer some time ago, used an OS 120 4-cycle, and
it did fly nicely, but not as fast as I had expected. How's yours ??
My favorite flying aircraft is a Goldberg Extra 300 (ST 90) but I expect
it will be replaced with a Super Sportster 120 (Saito 120) as soon as I
can get it finished (gr). TTYL - Roger
