subject: Hayes Accura and calling tone.

Hi Michael,
I have called my Hayes Accura 336 (Ozzie version) on my BBS, with a modem
that emits "calling tone" and it just will not connect. I assume, and in fact
I'm pretty certain, that the calling tone is the same as the fax calling
tone. (V29??)
Anyway, the Hayes throws a wobbly - big time. It squawks so loudly it almost
makes one want to hit it with a hammer !! I'm Serious!
It sits there in that state for about 45 seconds.
If the incoming call (sometimes me) that has the calling tone, disables the
calling tone (ATD^T........) it works just fine.
Any ideas ??
Regards,
Chris Maddock
