Well, I got a call last night (1/3/97) from a woman who said she
        was the niece of the man I think is my birthfather. We had a
        nice talk with her asking the questions. I figured that I would
        let her do the asking right now. She asked what I looked like to
        see if there is an resemblance to the family. Asked if I was
        trying to contact him for health reasons or just curiosity. I
        told her I had no problems at the moment but had kids and
        grandkids who could benefit from the info. As fo the couriosity,
        I told her I wanted to know him.
        It turns out that he died almost a year ago. :-( Also, she said
        some of my information wasn't accurate. I told her that my aunt
        gave me the information and it may not be accurate since it was
        almost 50 years before I was told this info. She seemed
        genuinely surprised that the second letter was refused. I
        really don't think that she knew about it. She asked me to send
        the copy of the picture so the family could see it and we will
        go from there.
        I was shaking so bad while talking to her and for a long time
        afterward. She was very nice and understanding of my situation.
        I will send the copy of the picture on Monday from a main post
        office.
