Hi everyone,
I have a dog Biscuit recipe that I would loke to share.
I will post this on NFB -Talk as well so sorry for the cross post.
Dog Biscuits
3 and one half Cups all purpose flour
2 Cups whole wheat flour
1 Cup rye flour
1 Cup cornmeal
2 Cups cracked wheat (bulgur)
1 half Cup dry milk powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 Cups chicken stock
1 package dry yeast
1 egg
1 Tablespoon milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine in a big bowl all the flours,
cornmeal, milk powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, dissolve yeast
in one fourth Cup lukewarm water, let it sit for a few minutes until
it bubbles. Add the chicken stock to the yeast mixture and mix well.
Add the liquid to the dry ingredients and mix well. knead about 3
minutes. The dough should be stiff. Flour a board with cornmeal and
roll out the cough to a thickness of about one fourth inch thick. Cut
out biscuits in appropriate shapes and place on an ungreased cookie
sheet. You will probably need 2 cookie sheets as this makes a lot.
Mix the egg with water and use to brush the tops of biscuits, then
bake the biscuits for 45 minutes and turn off the oven and leave in
overnight. This will make the dog biscuits bone hard.
