Hi, Joan! Well, I've got good news and bad news. First, the bad
news. I checked out the copies of the Huntsville Times from June of
1967 and could find absolutely no birth announcements at all. Now, I
only had about an hour and a half between the time I got there and
the time that the library closed, so I only had time to check the
Announcements section of the Classified Ads. I also noticed that the
Contents section on the front page listed the location for Deaths,
but not for Births. I also checked the section where Deaths were
reported, hoping to find Births located there as well, but no luck.
Finally, I checked the Society section, where the engagements and
weddings were reported, but no luck in that section, either.
Now the good news. Among the many records on microfilm in the
Huntsville library are various circuit court and probate court
records, many of them from the time frame in question. If you could
possibly provide me with any information pertaining to the court that
oversaw the adoption, such as a case number, circuit court number,
date of final decree, etc., I'll be happy to check the microfilms and
send you whatever I can find there. Also, you said that you were
born in June of 1967, but what day of the month was it? Any
information at all that you can give me to help narrow the search for
records would be greatly appreciated. And, while it may take me some
time to do the research, I'll do whatever I can to help you find any
information that is available.
