BG> Incidentally, as far as pricing is concerned, the current Dynalink
BG> (aka USR Sportster DSVD, which is a 33k6bps flash-ROM based voice
BG> modem) looks awfully hard to beat at a street price of around $250,
BG> which is $100-$150 cheaper than the Viper's street price!

I've just returned from the Dynalink web page. They are quoting a RRP of only $239 !!

I am now seriously considering this modem, but I am put off slightly by the
bug in the V42bis code as mentioned here.

Do you know how bad this bug is? Does it make V42bis totally unusable?

Even if the bug makes V42bis unusable, the modem could still be a great buy
for only $239.

Regards,
Frank
