What platform are you running on? I originally installed Slackware on a 1G HD and had plenty of room to compile stuff after I'd installed darn near everything. This was Slack 4.0, the newer stuff is somewhat bigger, and eats more of a 1G drive than it used to (I'm sitting at something like 93% full now). Whatever it is you're running there must be one heck of a HD space pig if 3G won't cut it. OTOH, additional drive space is real cheap in the used market these days. I was talking to a guy earlier this evening who had two computers, both P120, with 2G in one, 3G in the other, and he'd only paid $25-30 for the whole system in each case! ---* Origin: TANSTAAFL BBS 717-838-8539 (1:270/615) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 270/615 150/220 379/1 106/1 2000 633/267 |
