No, i used to think that too, but it would be a nightmare on the cpu IMO. 

I don't know zilch about Quick C, but if it supports get/putimage(), 
that code i've sent you does exactly that,(scrolls an image) albeit slow. 
Should not be too tricky to re-write the Borland code to Quick C if
it has comparable functions.
But anyway, in the end the best way to do any video routine, is to forget 
about inbuilt compiler functions, direct write and assembly is the only way 
to get decent speed.
