Change it to "pkg install clang".  That works and "binkd -vv" outputs;

  Binkd 1.1a-104 (May 10 2020 08:38:37/Linux)
  Compilation flags: clang.
  Facilities: fts5004 ipv6

While I am at it "ldd binkd" reports;

  libdl.so
  libc.so

Now I just have to configure and get it working on the tablet over it's
wireless connection.  I figure a point system would be best.
