That's about the size of it. I think that if your Government asks for
something, they'll get it. But there isn't much in the way of basic
disaster relief supplies that you can't supply more quickly and easily from
within the North American continent. You have huge resources and a highly
developed transport infrastructure. Do you really need shiploads of
blankets, clothing, drinking water, canned food and time-expired
pharmaceutical supplies that, with the best will in the world, won't arrive
for weeks?

Looking to the future, you are going to need tradespeople. Lots of
tradespeople. Construction workers of all types. Builders, masons,
electricians, plumbers etc. Shiploads of building materials. That's where
the rest of the world will come in handy.
