| subject: | high-end modems failing dial tone d |
LE>> actually fiendishly difficult to calculate a set of LE>> filter coefficients that will detect all the different LE>> breeds of service tones in Australia. AM> Do manufacturers actually make their service tone detection work across the AM> range of values specified in Austel TS 002? Welllllllllllll... I couldn't speak for all manufacturers. I tried, and failed, is all I know 8-) It's REALLY difficult. I got it to the stage where it would work on all but ARE, but only in some areas (???!) For example, it would work fine at 03-9528-2xxx and 03-9528-7xxx, but take it out to 03-976something (9761-2xxx ? can't recall) and it failed dismally. Most integrators (I won't call them manufacturers) get the firmware dump from Rockwell, and use a utility called ConfigurACE to set up all that sort of thing. There is no way to customize it to the degree that's really necessary; the DPi-series datapumps have 3 independent tone detection filters and it would be easiest if you program all 3 to recognize different dialtones while you're dialing, then reprogram them all to listen for different busy tones while you're waiting for the call to connect, etc. -- Lewin A.R.W.
