Not "completely false" just an exaggeration.  Christians are
certainly exonerated from almost all Jewish Law.

But then what Jesus said, and what is practiced as Christianity, seem to be
two vastly different things.  Jesus was a Jew, and preached to the Jews. 
It was Paul who made Christianity a gentile religion.
