G'day Vladimir
Ernie in our group has successfully done 2 pours of dental stone
onto the one tool. The first didn't fully penetrate so after uhmming and
ahhing he poured the second. There were no probs with the tool.
If you try the newest feature link from the website in my
signature, you will see that I have taped the tool to be cast to my orbital
sander. The first cast ok apart from running out the 3 holes I forgot to
plug (Doh!) Tonight I have cast a 160mm tile on edge tool with great
success. With the orbital sander clamped upside down in my vise, I poured
the dental stone and turned it on for a second or two. The rapid movement
causes the mix to flow into every nook and cranny. It also floats out
bubbles in the mix. As the mix solidifies, you can turn the sander on
briefly and this will liquify the mix again. I find this a very effective
way to cast tools with no voids in them.
I'm crossposting this to the Mirror Matic list as well for their
info.
Cheers
John Murray
