On 02-02-98, JOHN SAMPSON declared to ROBERT PLETT:
JS>RP>I don't disagree with you about that, John. But, how is it we've come
JS>RP>to such a state? Isn't it because people like us haven't insisted on
JS>RP>calling it the crime that it is? If we don't say it, who will? If we
JS>RP>don't call for enforcement, who will?
JS>We got there by subscribing, as a society, to the philosophy of such great
JS>minds as Crosby Stills Nash and Young. You know, "If you can't be with the
JS>one you love, love the one you're with." Or "Dr." Tim O'Leary, Dr. Spock,
JS>and the rest of the usual suspects.
One you left out is the churches, so many of which have leaders
complicit in all this.
Watched a kind of cross-fire thing over the weekend between a
conservative lady journalist (can't recall her name, but she does bits
like that from time to time) and a liberal Baptist pastor. The pastor
is a Clinton supporter and sounded exactly like the slickster as he
weasled every which way in his responses. That secular journalist was
hitting every aspect of the issue right on the button and pinning the
pastor's ears back with a better sermon than he likely ever preached
himself. Couldn't help but shudder at the thought of the incredible
damage that man has been doing to his flock.
