subject: Internet access under OS2 - Help pl

Hi to all,

I'm running Warp, and have installed "IBM Internet Connection for
OS/2" from the bonuspack CD-rom. I've been having no end of problems.

Now, to start off, I have _NO_ previous experience with the internet. I
have an account with OzEmail here in Cairns that I got a day or so ago.

I have accessed this account quite sucessfully using Netscape (windows 3.1)
but windows won't let it run error free above 19200 baud. As I have a 38400
I'm not impressed, also it means that I have to reboot to windows so as to
use the internet. Now OS2 will happily use the modem at 38400, using a
terminal program and also Binkley, and after some fiddling I worked out
what the script should be. So far so good.

Now for the problem. I can connect, "slip", username then
password. It tells me what my IP address is (whatever that means), then
tells me that I have a SLIP connection and to press "CTRL C" or
"CTRL Break" to exit, BUT when I try to use the browser it locks
the computer for about 8 seconds then tells me that "Explore has
stopped responding to system requests" and so I kill it. If on the
other hand I go for Gopher then after about 20-30 seconds it says that it
can't find the address and that it got no data back.

What am I doing wrong here?

Please help! I've now got the bug and can't exercise it :)
