If it was a phone call from Bush that accelerated the evacuation, then yes,
a debt of gratitude is owed. However, you seem to be usng somewhat
colourful language ... almost as if you were worried about how the politics
of the disaster is going to play out.

I have no info on the situation, and am happy to believe what you say. It's
very perplexing to us innocents in Sydney to hear reports of extended
looting (although I could imagine that the reports may turn out to be
exaggerated).

It's obviously too early to apportion blame, but certainly someone is
incompetent - really incompetent.
