I am a little embarrassed because thirty years ago I would definitely have
been against the invasion of Iraq, but now I can see some strong arguments
in its favour (OTOH the US/UK/Aus governments had better never think that
we citizens will believe any of the future lies they may trot out for us,
after the WMD debacle).

However, I would argue that the US has spent too much on military stuff
(particularly star wars et al), and not enough on basic infrastructure.
