They push the cable here heavy but that cable goes down more than a
two-dollar hooker on payday.  In the nearly three years I've lived here, my
"slow" DSL line has been incredibly reliable except for when the
power grid goes down (and that's not the phone company's fault).  I would
trade speed for reliability /any/ day.
