ST> Do you give her baths??? If she doesn't like to take her own
ST> bath did you try spraying her??? Do you have air condtioning??
DE> I spray Balth on an every-other-day basis. she gets a spray for being
DE> good too. She likes to jump into the spray, it's cute.
Good....you are lucky...Scoobie loves his...but only every three
days...not two...three...;-) He is cute...he lifts his wings
and does a little dance while I spray him...on the other hand...
Princess/Dumbo runs as fast as her legs will carry her away
from the spray...;-)
ST> If she is warm and uncomfortable spraying her is what she
ST> wants...Scoobie loves to be sprayed...Princess doesn't but is
ST> learning to...she never did...but when I held her under the
ST> faucet...she decided that Scoobie must know something she
ST> didn't...and is more receptive now...;-)
DE> WEll, if I had somebody to spray me, I'd be happy. :+)
He hehe...isn't this the truth...;-)
DE> But, we're moving the computer's, so she'll be in the NEW and IMPROVED
DE> computer room(it's closer to my bed room.) and that room is flea
DE> infested. What dhould I do? I'm going to take all of the pets out of
DE> the house, and bomb it, but what do I do to keep them away?
I have no idea..you are going to have to ask the experts here...I
had a cat before I got the birds...and fought fleas all the
time...;-) What I used then might not be good for the birds...so
I think you need the advice from someone else on this one...;-)
ST> nails...my eyes aren't what they use to be...but I don't think
ST> I'll have a problem with the wings...;-)
DE> I have 20/20 vision. The only one in my family. Later on the
DE> Astigmatism in my right eye might get worse, but I can trim and cut
DE> and do anything to Blath's talons and wings. She needs a talon trimming
DE> soon. Now where is that blood clotter? Oh well, she might not be
DE> getting that trim after all. She has a tendency to move right when I
DE> cut so I catch the quick of the talon quite often.
Well the wing and nail cutting is done...didn't go too well...
Princess still wants to fly...woke me up at 4am right after the
clipping...she was flapping around in the cage...scarred the
dickens out of me and Scoobie...I tried to calm him down and then
work with her...she was so scarred she didn't want to calm
down...she bled all over me...so I wouldn't put her back in the
cage till she did...I think the trauma of the clipping must have
caused a nightmare...since then I've left a nightlight on for her
and haven't had a recurrence...;-)
ST> He heh e...it does seem like more than it really is...but they
ST> are beautiful after a molt...Princess is only 5 months old and
ST> her new feathers seem much brighter than before...she is a
ST> lutino and beautiful...;-) Scoobie is a grey and he is pretty
ST> too...;-)
DE> Well, there is nothing as beautiful as a baby bird after it's first
DE> molt. At least nothing in the animal kingdom.
Mine were beautiful..but Scoobie doesn't have any tail feathers
left...she pulled the broken ones out...so now he is real
short...;-) And Princess/Dumbo has beautiful tail feathers but
she is a little funny looking...without her long wings...;-)
But they will grow soon enough...I'm not going to let it get out
of hand...Scoobie never had a problem being clipped...but poor
little Princess didn't take it well at all...and I don't want her
traumatized like this again...;-)
