Glenn,

I had an old wife once. Took everyone's advice on how to fix her. Finally
had to give up, throw her away and get a new one. Same here. If you want to
play, keep going and try to patch that broken lap and use it on 500 to work
it in. If you want a mirror, make a new lap, start regrinding at 220 and
you'll get a mirror.

My new wife lasted fourteen years, but by then she had turned 40 so I
traded her in for two twenties. Never been married to a woman over forty
and don't ever intend to start. Never patched up a lap and tried to mate it
with a mirror surface at 500 either.
