| subject: | Abusive messages to/from Graham Wel |
IS> The percentage of off-topic and abusive messages to and from IS> Graham Weldon in this conference is way too high. I've netmailed IS> Would the regular posters here who are engaging in baiting IS> this fellow please take it to NETMAIL. I'm sure I'm not the only RL> I'd probably be the main one this is addressed to, but as it is posted RL> to all I'll post this here as well. My mistake was taking the easy way out and not netmailing you and the several others involved in this turkey shoot, as I've been trying to do with Master Weldon and sysops giving him access, so far fruitlessly. This will be my one and only response in here; it's almost certainly one too many, at that. _Please_ follow up in netmail, I can only ask again. I accept full blame for paying insufficient attention in recent weeks to the rise of this latest round of aggro. To tell you the truth, it turns me right off, and I haven't wished to have to deal with it. I've been waiting in vain for some netmail, and assuming others might be doing a bit towards keeping things on the friendly side in here, as in the past. Slack, I know. RL> Most of the mail sent to Weldon is sent to point out his glaring RL> mistakes or blatant lies. You've read his dribble the same as the rest Large para of strictly personal abuse of the current target elided. Me, I've liked it when I can come here for some helpful advice and sharing of information and ideas, perhaps even tried enlightening a little ignorance now and again. I've even seen subtlety do some good, and people filled in without having to be made look and feel small, and react predictably to that. Bit of netmail now and again used to smooth out most of the bumpy bits. If you want this echo to be yet another LTUAE-style shootemup where those with the sharpest tongues and thickest hides call the shots, and that's what others are sufficiently keen (or apathetic) to see this echo become, then you're badly in need of a more suitable moderator. RL> Anyway, Ian, I have now twitted him, to stop myself pointing out to him .. what your parting shot continues hitting home. Sure Randall, thanks for the help, and for reminding me that elections here are more or less overdue. I'll be getting onto that as soon as I can, but feel free to preempt me. RL> BTW how's the hippies down there?? Getting older, every one; whether wiser, I know not. How are people doing up your way?
