I heard on Healthcast (a local news segment) that ultraviolet rays of the sun 
not only do skin damage but also penetrate the skins layers and can affect 
the cells of the blood causing blood disorders and perhaps leukemia. 
Sunscreen doesn't stop the sun from affecting the blood.
