I've had a clarification from Paul - the contest was between the staff and 
leaders.  Can't fault the staff - they have been doing this for several 
weeks.   Paul said one of his friends had a totem he carved expecting to 
enter, but he was not on staff.  This would have been a *great* contest 
between boys and leaders!
