KB> The worst is when there is a parade on Main Street that you've
KB> already seen a thousand times, so you try to wheel your wife up the
KB> street to enjoy the lands. Forget about it. Might as well pitch a
KB> tent - you'll be staying a while.
Tsk, tsk. Haven't you learned to cut through the back of the shops on
the west side of the street? There's a reason they're connected, you
know.
KB>BM> Remember the Mine Train through Natures Wonderland? Or the Pack
KB>BM> Mules? Or the Stagecoach? Or the Freight Train?
KB> You bet I do! My two favs at DL when I was young were "Journey
KB> Through Inner Space" ... and "Rainbow Ridge Pack Mules". "Mr. Toad"
KB> came in third.
The mules were pretty good, but not as good as the "Mine Train". "Mr.
Toad" was my absolute favorite from my first visit, and I'm reluctant to
(publicly) change that choice. My brother liked the "Flying Saucers"
best, but because he did I couldn't admit I wanted to ride them at
all--until I was older and by then they were gone. "Journey Through
Inner Space" was my wife's favorite ride. Not because she thought it was
good, just the opposite: it was so dumb we could smooch without missing
anything worthwile.
I think "Inner Space" thus represents a class of attraction the Parks
need a few more of: romatic rides. I've been working on the design of an
attraction based on the flying carpet sequence from "Aladdin", including
the song "A Whole New World", from just this perspective. My plan was to
build on the proven technology from "Peter Pan" plus extensive queue
area development. Of course, now that EPCOT is showing a VR simulation
of Aladdin's *first* ride on the carpet, it seems unlikely to ever be
built. Couples form an awfully large percentage of Park guests, and I
think that more attractions should address their interests--there are
enough "jiggle rides" already.
KB>BM> Get that film exposed now while the shootin's good.
KB> And send copies of your Disney park videos to me!!!
Would you settle for trading some color prints?
