You can use pretty much ANY industry standard modem. The 850 Interface
maxes out at 9600 bps data transfer rate. You may be able to use 14.4k
and faster modems, maybe even with 14.4k carrier, but the data rate
between the 850 and the modem tops out at 9600. I find a 2400 bps modem
to work very well with my 850 Interface. I have a Telebit T1000 modem -
which had to have Flow Control adjusted to work with the 850.
Used external 2400 bps modems are very cheap now. You may also be able
to find a 9600 for real cheap these days.

Unless you have special needs or requirements, most people find BOBTERM
to be the best. You should try it before looking at anything else.

That's great, I hope you bring them out of retirement! Believe it or
not, there is still a little bit of new software coming out for it. If
you hang in there long enough, you might see some of the games I'm still
working on. :-)
