Well, i was talking about the source's clearity, not the resulting code..
As for compiling,i don't know how well Basic optimizes it's code, but i
assume they've had made some improvements since VB1.
Btw, basic does have it's strcmp like function now, with a nice touch,
where an optional argument can determine binary or textual comparison,that
eliminates the need for a separate stricmp() like function.
There's also "like" and "is" both of which returns
boolean or NULL.
