A couple of years ago we had 2 days without power. It was cold, but the
house warms well with wood, and we can even cook with fire (to some extent
at least), but my problem was water - my well is a drill-hole, where the
water level is about 15 meters below ground surface, in a hole that's maybe
15 centimeters in diameter, so there's no way to get water from it without
the pump working. Also, nobody really buys water from the stores here, so
the few small bottles that they had were sold probably during the first
fifteen minutes.
