OK, so not all Dynalink modems are service tone deaf.

The reason I mentioned it was that being a rebadged Sportster, you would
think the Fastcard+ would recognize dial and busy tones, yet the saleswoman
said it definitely did not.

I suppose the only way to really find out is to buy one and plug it in.
