Hi David,
PK> service2.boulder.ibm.com/software/netscape
DC> The site you used is a private test system. It is not
DC> where release versions of anything are available.
I used it because that was the site others referenced. It looks like you may
be correct, however please note that the pages you supplied below contain
references to the FTP site above for some of the plugpack items in the second
of the servers available, so it may not be as "private" as expected. I do
note that I had EXCELLENT throughput when using service2, over 3400cps on a
28k8 modem!
DC> The URL for NS2.02 for OS2 is:
DC> http://www.internet.ibm.com/browsers/netscape/warp/
DC> Select the language you desire and download and you
DC> will be presented with a selection of 5 sites available
DC> for the download. These are the official download sites
DC> with the latest version of the released code.
And I now have it from the above site thanks, although it was considerably
slower than the FTP above...........;-(. I prefer using FTP rather than HTTP
for plain file transfers because the HTTP file transfer function apparently
still has some known problems with plain file transfers that can mean you
lose the lot and have to start again. At least with FTP many servers are now
supporting restarts, which can be very handy with large files.
Regards............pk.
