Hello everyone,
I just picked up one of the above modems cheap (#10.00) to use as a backup to
my Sportster 14400 (or more likely to demote the Sportster to the role of
backup). The reason it was so cheap was that it came without manuals, cable
or
power supply.
Could anyone tell me what power supply it needs? I know it's 9vAC but does
anyone know what mA rating it should be, or anything else I need to know
bout
it? Next, does anyone know where I can get hold of a command set from? I
guess
that it may have a help facility like the USR does, but if so I'd still need
to
know what the help command is (equivalent to AT$ on the USR).
Finally, is there anything I should know about the telephone cable? I am
assuming I need a standard phone cable like the USR, but I do know that some
modems have strange proprietary phone cables instead.
If I can get this modem up and running it should hopefully get rid of the
minor
problem I have in contacting a few V34/V34+ nodes with the Sportster.
Thanks in advance,
